Warm Home Loans: what is known so far
Last checked 30 September 2026. Grant rates and deadlines change — confirm on GOV.UK before acting.
This scheme has not fully launched. Everything on this page is provisional. If you see a specific start date or interest rate quoted elsewhere, treat it with caution.
What has been announced
The Warm Homes Plan includes a loan scheme, with around £1.7 billion allocated, offering low and zero-interest finance for measures including heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage. Launch is phased from 2027.
Who it is aimed at
Households above the Warm Homes: Local Grant income threshold, and private landlords. In other words, people who can afford to repay but not to pay the lump sum. If you were told you earn too much for a grant, this is the route to watch.
What has not been published
- The exact launch date.
- Final interest rates, and which measures get zero rather than low interest.
- Repayment terms and maximum loan sizes.
- Whether it runs UK-wide or England only.
What to do now
Nothing that commits you. If you are considering work in 2027, get quotes, but avoid signing commercial finance until these terms are published. A zero-interest government loan, if you qualify, will beat it.
